About Joshua Stevenson

I am an associate lawyer working with Alex Toolsie. I graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies, and received a JD from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University. I primarily practice family law, but have recently expanded my practice to include criminal law.

I am a notary public, and can assist you if you require a document to be notarized or commissioned.

My ultimate goal is always to provide cost-effective legal services that result in good outcomes for my clients.

Separation from a spouse or common-law partner often involves division of family property, determining residency or parenting plans for your children, and child or spousal support obligations. I can assist you in resolving these issues by negotiating a Separation Agreement, or by representing you in court proceedings. I also negotiate and draft other types of domestic contracts, such as marriage contracts (commonly known as “prenuptial agreements”).

I accept both private and Legal Aid clients.

I also offer unbundled services, which are an excellent option for many self-represented litigants who do not have a Legal Aid certificate. These services include drafting individual documents, legal research, and court coaching support. The cost of these services will depend on the complexity of what you require, but are less expensive than full representation. Please call our office to find out which option is right for you.

I am accepting a range of criminal defence matters, including summary, super-summary offences. I accept clients who are screened with indictable offences on a case-by-case basis. I also accept Provincial Offences Act (“POA”) matters, including but not limited to Careless Driving, Drive No License, or Drive Suspended.

Please call our office to find out if we can assist you with your criminal or POA matter.
