Kitchener Criminal Lawyer

I focus on delivering premium quality services to all my criminal law clients because I understand how stressful it is to be charged with a criminal offence. I will do everything I can to bring about the best possible result, which for many people means avoiding a criminal record. I am happy to explain the entire process to you, including the nature of the charges and the consequences you might be facing.

When you are charged with an offence you may feel a sense of disbelief and that you have been victimized.  Sometimes innocent people get charged. That’s a fact of life.  Usually you will have at least a few questions about your rights and what your options are.  You might also have some questions about the criminal justice system and how things work. My main focus is on protecting your legal rights throughout the entire criminal process. I will endeavour to keep you informed every step of the way and to answer any questions you have.

I can defend clients accused of a wide variety of criminal offences, including the one’s below just to name a few.

Common Offences

(a) Impaired Driving (blood alcohol over 0.08, marijuana, refusing to provide a breath sample, etc.);
(b) Driving While Prohibited or Suspended and Dangerous Driving;
(c) Thefts (including theft under and over $5000, as well as theft from employers);
(d) Fraud, Falsifying an Employment Record;
(e) Assaults (including domestic/spousal assault, sexual assault, aggravated assault and assault causing bodily harm);
(f) Drug Charges (including possession, trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking controlled substances such as marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamines);
(g) Weapons Offences (possession of a concealed weapon; possession of prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, and related offences).

Consequences of a Criminal Record

A criminal record can have serious consequences on your employment, your family, your reputation and your ability to travel. It is always best to consult a lawyer whenever you are facing the possibility of a criminal conviction, even if the Crown is not seeking a jail sentence.

Although it depends on the circumstances of your particular case, I am happy to explore alternative options.  Many cases can be resolved without a trial and without you ending up with a criminal record. If a trial is necessary, I will use my knowledge of the law and the rules of evidence in the courtroom to try and obtain an acquittal for my clients. What may appear as a hopeless case with no prospect of success may be entirely defensible. Don’t give up. Take the first step in reducing the stress of being charged with a criminal offence by calling me to set up a consultation.

If you have been charged with or are being investigated for a criminal offence, please contact me right away.

Legal Aid Ontario

Sometimes I accept clients who have a certificate from Legal Aid Ontario. So if you already have a certificate, feel free to call or email me. But keep in mind that just because you have a certificate does not mean I will accept you as a client for sure. It will depend on a number of factors, including my overall workload.
